Finding it harder to keep a lid on this, so for now I’ll do a little blurb here on the blog. Expect the requisite horrible MySpace/Facebook/Twitter/Mailing List deluge to come in the following weeks.
I have a band again, and I am writing songs again. I went through a brief period of personal recovery and to be on the other side of it feels good. Which I think means it is something I ought to be sharing. I wanted to be super cool, Mr. I’m too-hip-for-school, and wait. Try to make that shit all mysterious. Then like a cheetah - BAM - I would spring it on everybody at once.
Ahem.
Then I realized that there are maybe a couple dozen people total who still even give a rat’s ass, so why bother with all the smoke and mirrors.
So:
We are BLACK WATER, and consist of the 3/4 of THE MELTDOWNS that are not in the lovely and talented BEN FRANKLIN.
We spent a lot of time over the winter trying to find other musicians to collaborate with. At first it wasn’t working at all. Then we found someone we thought would be a perfect fit - that is, until they decided it wouldn’t work with their schedule. After many beers and strife, we decided to soldier on alone anyway and make a real push at giving this thing a go.
With luck, we’ll be looking to start booking in April. Right now we’ve got about five to six songs finished, with several more in the hopper. Here’s a crude video of one of them - it’s called “Keep Your Eyes Closed”
